Architect, Maker and STEAM Educator
I have been an architect since 2005, but over the years I have become into a digital craftswoman thanks to the management of FabLab Palermo. I’m in charge of FabLab for which I have been in charge, since 2013, of administration, organization of workshops, courses, laboratories and events, social media marketing on site and social, digital fabrication and STEAM Education.
Tell us about your career path.
Why did you choose a STEM profession?
Was your interest in STEM encouraged?

Thanks to FabLab Palermo I have become a STEAM Educator, organizing and conducting courses and workshops for both students and teachers, working assiduously in schools with coding, robotics and 3D printing.

How was your university experience? Do you have any memorable experiences to share?

My studies at the university did not satisfy me, I learned a lot more in the years I spent at FabLab.

Where do you work?
What would you do during a typical day at work? What do you enjoy most about your job?

I work in a digital fabrication laboratory and the thing I like most about my job is doing new things every day in a very practical way.

What are your plans and aspirations for the future?

For the future I would like for FabLab Palermo to become a real recognized STEM school.

What do you like to do outside of work? What are your passions and hobbies?

Cinema; Music; Art; Crafts; Design; Photography; To travel.

What advice would you give to other young girls and women who plan to pursue a STEM career?

I recommend studying science subjects since childhood, learning to use computers and studying coding.
