Tell us about your career path.
Why did you choose a STEM profession?
Was your interest in STEM encouraged?
My career path is not really linear.
I studied History at university, then I switched to accounting and I finally had a Master in Financial Analysis.
I chose a STEM profession without asking myself “do I fit in the STEM world?”. I just chose a profession I knew I could have challenges!
I came from a family where you are encouraged to do what you like and they were my best support.
Creativity is just having enough dots to connect
How was your educational/university experience? Do you have any memorable experiences to share?
I liked to study, so I had fun when I was a student.
Travels abroad are part of my memorable experiences! I remember one of my first trip to Ireland to improve my English. I discovered another world, students from all over the world. A physical trip since I had broken my leg 2 weeks before the trip. It was epic!
Where do you work?
What would you do during a typical day at work? What do you enjoy most about your job?
I am a consultant, I am working at clients’, mainly banks, on different projects.
My role can be very different from a client to another.
I just joined a big french bank to help them to externalise a part of their activity. I am in charge of analysing flows between systems, coordinating teams, helping users….
I do not have a typical day at work, therefore I like my job. You never know how your day will be: emergency to resolve, flows to try to understand, to work with a developer on a specific subject.
There is no routine, I am never bored.
What are your plans and aspirations for the future?
I like to work in a STEM environment, it’s challenging for me.
Plans for the future: to have my own company!
What do you like to do outside of work? What are your passions and hobbies?
I do sports, specially running. With a job where I sit the whole day, I need to move and running is great. It helps me to evacuate stress and to take time just for me.
I love to travel (like many of us), to meet people from other cultures, to see how it is to live in another country than mine.
What advice would you give to other young girls and women who plan to pursue a STEM career?
Just go! Do what you like!
It is an advantage to be a girl in such an environment.
